What to Expect Next

This is the exciting bit. You're in. All you have to do now is prepare as much as you want to.
  • Read your Explorer's Handbook - That will give you a broad overview of the world of Ruin
  • Read as much of the Ruin: Awakening Novella as you like - It will give you a vibe of our storytelling
  • Jump into the Discord - It's really easy. Jump on, and it will guide you through class and character choice

Once on the Discord, you can participate as little or as much as you want. You don't have to be social if you don't want to, but you can still watch Delver's chat amongst themselves in the different channels. You never know, those conversations might make the published book!

How the Delve Works →

  • 1) Choose your Delver Class

    Every explorer brings their own strengths to Ruin. When you join the Ruin Discord, you’ll pick a Delver Class.

    Your class determines which votes you can take part in, the paths open to your character, and even the proficiencies you’ll bring to the expedition.

    This is your chance to just vote or go deeper and truly leave your mark.

  • 2) When the Delve Starts, Vote on Delve Choices

    Every few days, the next story will release along with choices to vote on. Consequences will then be published as soon as Brandon Berryhill and our editing team rustle it together (usually a day or so.)

    BEWARE... branching story paths can have drastic consequences on the story and the world of Ruin at large.

  • 3) Take Part as Much as you Want

    Simply sit back and watch the story unfold or get involved; suggest solutions to problems, solve puzzles, and maybe even make a heroic sacrifice... or get killed off. And who knows, you might even get sketched in.

    Note: if you write up a backstory for your character and post it, Brandon Berryhill will do his best to include it (provided it doesn't break lore of course!)

  • 4) Get Immortalized in Print

    When the Delve ends, the adventure doesn’t disappear into the ether. It’s bound forever in an Expedition Journal - a published record of the choices you and your fellow explorers made.

    Every twist, every vote, every name that shaped the journey is captured in a book you can hold in your hands. Neat huh?
